Itinerary

Day 1: Humantay Lake (13h of tour and trip) > in group

At a prearranged time, around 4:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to embark on our journey northwest of Cusco. We’ll drive through quaint villages and rural landscapes until reaching the town of Limatambo. From there, we’ll ascend to Mollepata, where a delicious breakfast and lunch await.

Along the way, we’ll pause at the Markahuasi viewpoint to admire its namesake archaeological ruins. After breakfast, our guide will share fascinating insights about the site before we continue to Soraypampa. During the ride, the guide will also highlight the local flora, fauna, and traditions.

Upon arriving in Soraypampa—the starting point of our hike—the guide will brief you on high-altitude trekking techniques, including pacing and estimated duration. You’ll receive a light snack and trekking poles to assist you on the approximately 2-hour ascent.

At the breathtaking Humantay Lagoon, you’ll have time to soak in the awe-inspiring views of the Humantay and Salkantay snow peaks. After a short break for photos, we’ll retrace our steps back to Soraypampa, where our vehicle will be waiting. From there, we’ll return to Mollepata for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Cusco.
