Itinerary

Day 1: Km 82 > Wayllabamba (10 Km Hike) > Considered Day Of Physical Preparation

Your adventure begins with an early departure from the hotel at around 06:00 a.m., heading to Piscacucho (2,650 masl), also known as Kilometer 82. This is where your Inca Trail 4 Days journey officially starts as we pass through the checkpoint.

The trail begins with a gentle hike across flat terraces, leading you to Miskay (2,800 masl). From there, we continue our trek to Huayllabamba (3,000 masl), where our first campsite awaits. Here, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the Vilcanota River and the incredible diversity of flora and fauna that surrounds you. On the horizon, the majestic snow-capped Veronica Mountain (5,832 masl) rises across the Urubamba River, creating a breathtaking backdrop.

Spend the night camping in Huayllabamba, surrounded by nature, and enjoy delicious meals prepared by our talented porters, including lunch and dinner.

  • Overnight: Camping in Huayllabamba.
  • Meals Included: Lunch and Dinner on the tour prepared by the porters (the cook and his assistants).

Day 2: Wayllabamba > Warmiwañusca > Pacaymayu (10 Km Trekking) > Considered The Most Challenging

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll continue our trek, embarking on what is considered the most challenging day of the Inca Trail 4 Days. The trail takes us along narrow, steep paths (9 km uphill), where the landscape transforms into high, dry terrain with sparse vegetation.

Our goal is to reach the summit of Warmihuañuska (Dead Woman’s Pass), the highest point of the trek. Along the way, we’ll pass through a forest teeming with wildlife, including sparrows, finches, and other native Andean species. To keep your energy levels up during this demanding climb, we recommend snacking on sweets, chocolates, or chewing coca leaves to help with altitude and glucose levels.

After conquering the pass, we’ll descend into the serene Pacaymayo Valley (3,600 masl), where we’ll set up camp after approximately 6 hours of trekking. Rest and recharge as you enjoy delicious meals prepared by our skilled porters, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  • Overnight: Camping in Pacaymayo
  • Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 3: Pacaymayo > Chaquicocha > Wiñaywayna (16 Km Hike) > Considered The Most Unforgettable Day Of The Day

Day 3 of the Inca Trail 4 Days will be unforgettable, filled with fascinating archaeological discoveries. Accompanied by our expert guide, we’ll hike to Abra de Runkuracay, where we’ll explore the ancient ruins of the same name—a small, watchtower-like structure perched high in the mountains. From there, we’ll descend to Yanacocha (Black Lagoon) and enter the enchanting cloud forest.

Next, we’ll visit Sayacmarca, a stunning archaeological complex featuring semicircular buildings, narrow streets, liturgical fountains, patios, and intricate irrigation canals. The trail then leads us on a gentle climb to Abra de Phuyupatamarka, where we’ll marvel at the incredible engineering feats of the Incas, including an original Inca tunnel. Phuyupatamarka, meaning ‘The City Above the Clouds,’ is one of the most well-preserved and impressive sites along the trail.

Finally, we’ll arrive at Wiñayhuayna, where we’ll set up camp for the night. This day is a true highlight, offering a deep dive into Inca history and breathtaking views at every turn.

Overnight: Camping in Wiñayhuayna or Phuyupatamarka
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (prepared by our skilled porters).

Day 4: Wiñayhuayna > Machu Picchu > Cusco (6 Km Trekking) > Considered The Unique Day > circuit 5

On the final day of your Inca Trail 4 Days adventure, we’ll rise early at 04:00 a.m. from Wiñayhuayna to begin our descent toward Inti Punku (Sun Gate). After about an hour of hiking, we’ll arrive just in time to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the iconic Machu Picchu. From there, we’ll continue our descent for approximately 40 minutes to reach the citadel itself.

Once at Machu Picchu, you’ll enjoy a 2.5-hour guided tour, exploring the highlights of this ancient wonder. After the tour, you’ll have free time to further explore the citadel, or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb Huayna Picchu Mountain (subject to availability). From its summit, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains, as well as the chance to visit the Temple of the Moon and the Inca Bridge.

In the afternoon, we’ll hike down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at your own expense. Later, we’ll board the train back to Cusco (depending on the train schedule), marking the end of our services.
